Church Membership
“You can’t enjoy the fruit of community without the root of commitment.” – Dr. Glenn Packiam
At The Garden Church, we don’t see membership as adding your name to a list or signing up for a set of tasks. We see it as an invitation into family. Membership is about belonging. It’s saying, “This is my church, my people, my place of worship and mission.”

Membership is Family
Romans 12 reminds us that we are many members, but one body in Christ. Membership is a way of living that reality together. We want visitors to become friends, and friends to become family. Visitors are welcomed and loved, but they don’t carry the same voice or responsibility as family. Friends walk with us, but family commits with us. Membership is how we joyfully delineate between these stages. It is our way of saying, “I’m all in.”

Membership is Mutual
Membership comes with expectations, but not just for the members. It is not a one-sided contract; it is a covenant. Elders covenant to shepherd, pray, teach, equip, protect, and serve the body. Members covenant to live in the rhythms of grace, to pursue holiness, to serve, to give, and to help the church walk faithfully in Christ. It is mutual love, mutual accountability, and mutual encouragement.

Membership is Not a Country Club
Membership isn’t about status or perks. It’s not about consuming services but contributing to the mission. The Garden is not a club for the privileged but a family of disciples devoted to delighting in Jesus, making disciples, and living out the gospel. Membership isn’t about what you get it’s about who you’re becoming with us.

Membership is Commitment to the Rhythms of Grace
Our family life is formed around the rhythms of grace.
To be a member is to say, “I want to walk these rhythms with this people, in this place, for God's glory”

Membership is Joining God’s Work Here
We believe God is moving in Parker County and beyond, and He has called The Garden to play a part in His great story. Membership is a way of saying, “I want to put roots down here so that fruit might grow.” It’s joining the family in both word and practice; through worship, discipleship, and mission.

In short, membership is our way of turning visitors into friends, friends into family, and family into disciples on mission together. It is both a beautiful gift and a sacred responsibility.

Our first membership class will be held in January of 2026.
