What is the Gospel?
"I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes..." Romans 1:16
The gospel has largely been hijacked and redefined by the western church. What was once a term of simplicity and depth, has in many ways been rendered ineffective--robbed of its power to save and transform. The greatest enemy of the gospel in Parker County is hollow religion and moralism, that leaves people trying to be happy through their efforts, and earn a distant god's favor through their works.
At The Garden Church, our simple definition of the gospel is:

While we were dead in our sins,
God's kingdom was proclaimed on earth through Jesus, who:
Loved us to make us lovely. Died for us that we might live.
Rose from the dead and released us on mission to reclaim the hearts
of all who would have faith to believe what He has done.

To respond to the gospel we simply:

Believe it.
Repent (or turn away) from our sins and,
Receive the Holy Spirit.
